HEAVY MOTOR EQUIPMENT OP - HIGHWAY




The Town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of HEAVY MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR for the Department of Public Works, Highway Division.

Semi-skilled manual work in the operation of specialized and heavy equipment and all public works vehicles in performing construction and maintenance activities; all other related work as required. Performs preventative maintenance and labor incidental to work of operating assigned equipment. May work on a range of public works projects including road surfacing, resurfacing, and patching. May perform or assist in the performance of masonry or carpentry work associated with public works projects.

Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Class A Commercial Driver’s License with all necessary endorsements and a valid Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Hoisting Engineer’s License with Restriction 2-A and 4-E and 4G required, 4A desired. Education and Experience: High School graduate with two years’ experience in public works construction maintenance activities including the operation of heavy equipment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Any applicant for this position with 5 years’ experience and having all licenses to operate Town equipment and demonstrated ability may be upgraded to Special Heavy Motor Equipment Operator (OM4) at the hourly range of $28.5314 to $33.1807. In addition, the Town can waive any licenses if they deem it in the best interest of the Town.
